Refunds
Introduction
Everything on this page is a plain-language summary of Sections 5.5 and 5.6 of our Terms of Service.
If anything here reads differently from the Terms, the Terms are what apply.
The free trial
The trial runs for ten days and we do not take a card to start it. It does not turn into a paid plan on its own. When the ten days end, your access ends or drops to a free level unless you choose to subscribe. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from your account settings, or by contacting us. There is no cancellation fee and no notice period.
Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep full access until then. After that, your plan does not renew and you are not charged again.
Cancelling stops future charges. On its own, it does not produce a refund of what you have already paid. The next section covers when a refund applies.
Refunds
| If you pay | What happens if you cancel |
|---|---|
| Monthly | The month you are in is not refunded. You keep access until the end of it, and you are not charged again. |
| A prepaid term of more than one month | If you cancel within 30 days of the term starting, we refund the unused complete months. After 30 days, that term is not refunded. |
An example. If you prepay for six months and cancel on day 20, you have used less than one complete month, so we refund five months and you keep access for the remainder of the month you are in. If you cancel in month four, no refund applies, and you keep access through the end of the six months you paid for.
We can always choose to issue a credit or a refund in circumstances these rules do not cover. If something has gone wrong, tell us before you cancel and we will look at it.
Changing plans
You can move up or down a plan at any time from your account settings.
Moving up takes effect immediately, and we charge the difference for the rest of the period you are in.
Moving down takes effect at your next billing date, so you keep the plan you paid for until then. On a prepaid term, moving down does not refund what you have already paid.
How renewal works
Plans renew automatically so your service does not stop unexpectedly. A monthly plan renews every month. A prepaid term renews at the end of that term. Each renewal is charged to the payment method on file at the price in effect at the time, and we give notice of upcoming charges where the law requires it.
If we change the price of your plan, we tell you at least 30 days beforehand and the new price does not take effect until your next renewal after that notice.
Failed payments
If a payment is declined or goes unpaid, we may suspend access until it clears. An account left suspended for more than 30 days may be closed.
How to reach us
Billing questions, cancellations and refund requests all go through our contact form. Choose “Billing and cancellation” as the topic, tell us the account and what you would like to happen, and we will come back to you.
